Two Aiyappa devotees electrocuted, another hospitalised

Two Aiyappa devoteess were electrocuted and another sustained serious burn injuries when they were setting a public address system in a temple near Pandalur, about 70 KMs from here today.
Surendran was attempting to tie a loud speaker on a tree and came into contact with a overhead wire resulting in electrocution.
Two others, Manikandan and Venugopal, who were helping, tried to rescue him during which they also got electric shock, police said.
While Surendran and Manikandan died on way to a hospital in Sultan Battery in neighbouring Kerala, Venugopal was admitted to the hospital there, police said.
A Aiyappa pooja was scheduled to be performed in a Shiva Temple when the mishap occured, they said.
