The arrest was made yesterday on the basis of an FIR lodged by the district welfare officer (DWO) of Kandhamal, Superintendent of Police, K V Singh said.
The DWO lodged the complaint after the state-level scrutiny committee (SLSC) confirmed forgery.
The nabbed persons are Paul Digal, inspector, central excise, customs and service tax, Bhubaneswar and Yaspal Kumar Pradhan, assistant engineer in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at Sunabeda in Koraput district, police said.
Digal, a resident of Tikalamendi in Tikabali allegedly got the job of a stenographer in central excise in 1993 by producing fake caste certificate, they said.
With this, around 37 people have been arrested in the district in fake certificate case in the last two years. They include government officials and several members of gram panchayats.
