Two suspected auto-lifters were arrested in northeast Delhi, the police said today.
The accused were identified as Rajkumar and Mohd. Jaffar and five stolen motorcycles and one scooter was recovered after their arrest, they said, adding that with the arrest and recovery, six cases of motor vehicle thefts were solved.
The duo was arrested on Tuesday (July 10).
During interrogation, the accused were found to be alcohol addicts and had no work to fulfil their daily needs. They have stolen motorcycles from different parts of Delhi and UP and have been previously involved in robbery, house theft and burglary cases. After stealing, they used to park vehicles in suitable areas and then search for customers to dispose off the stolen motorcycles.
Both the accused were recently released from the jail in a case of motor vehicle theft, the police said.
