Two BJP workers injured in attack

Two BJP workers were injured when a group of CPI-M workers allegedly stabbed them in neighbouring Kannur District today, police said.
Nikhil (21) and Amith (22) were waylaid and attacked with sharp edged weapons on a road in Patthayakunnu town by the assailants who later fled the scene.
Political rivalry was stated to be the reason behind the attack and an attempt to murder case had been registered against five CPI-M workers, police said.
Nikhil with serious injuries had been admitted to a private hospial here while the other in Thalassery, police said
Protesting the attack, BJP gave a call for a hartal in Patthayakunnu today.
