"The skirmish took place in the restive Dodrepara village, bordering Odisha, under Darbha police station limits of the district when a joint team of security forces from the two states was carrying out an anti-naxal operation," a senior police official told PTI.
The joint squad had launched the operation along the borders in Darbha area, around 400 kms away from the state capital.
He said the exchange of fire occurred when the troopers were cordoning off a forested patch in Dodrepara.
The injured jawans were taken to a nearby CRPF camp in Koleng area, from where they were shifted to Jagdalpur district headquarter.
"The injured jawans were admitted at Jagdalpur hospital where their condition was stated to be completely normal," according to the official.
Police found some Maoist documents, uniform and other related materials from the spot.
"Moreover, the bloodstainsfoundatthespot indicate that some naxals were also injured in the gun-battle, but their colleagues managed to take them away fromthespot taking advantage of forest," he said.
