Two dead as car hits crowd in US

A car ran through barricades and into a crowd at a music and film festival in the US state of Texas early today, killing two people and injuring 21, police said.
The driver is in custody after the incident at South By Southwest festival in the state capital Austin.
The barricades were temporary ones set up for the festival, and the crowd that was struck numbered in the hundreds, Austin police spokesman Lt. Brian Moon told AFP.
Those hurt sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor, he said.
The incident is under investigation.
