Two gets ten years jail for attempt to murder

A local court has sentenced two persons to ten years imprisonment in a case of attempt to murder.
Additional Sessions Judge Lukhwinder Kaur also imposed a fine of Rs 19,000 on the two convicts identified as Tarsem Lal alias Sima and Kuldeep Chaudhary alias Jony, both local residents.
According to Additional public prosecutor, on July 20, 2014, victim Sukhjinder Singh had alleged that the two men had tried to run him over wit a truck.
In his statement, Singh said the convicts has taken him to a liquor vend afer which a minor alteration took place between the victim and two men, police said. When Singh was returning back to his home, Tarsem tried to run him over with his truck and the victim was dragged for a considerable distance.

The crime was committed with common intention of both the accused to kill the victim, police said.
Acting upon the statement of the victim, a case was registered under various sections of the IPC against the accused.
