Two held for hunting animals of reserve forest area

Two persons were arrested today for allegedly hunting and selling meat of animals belonging to the reserve forest area near here.
Forest department officials said acting on tip off, they raided Kohli farm on Baijar Marg and arrested Sahdev and Safal Haldar, while three other persons fled from the spot.
Carcass of a swamp deer, knives and weighing machine were recovered from their possession.
The poachers had already sold the meat of a swamp deer, a forest official said.
The arrested duo have been booked under relevant sections of the Forest Act, the official said, adding that search is on to nab their other accomplices.
