These two institutes, the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (Noida), and Indian Institute for Entrepreneurship (Guwahati), were under the MSME Ministry.
"The administrative matters pertaining to National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida and Indian Institute for Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati stands transferred to Ministry of Skill Development with immediate effect.
"Accordingly, the two institutes are directed to henceforth report to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship," the MSME Ministry said today.
Also, it is coordinating efforts of all concerned stakeholders as more than 20 ministries and departments run 70 plus schemes for skill development.
The government recently transferred the Training and Apprenticeship verticals of the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET) from the Labour Ministry to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The MSME Ministry said that NIESBUD and IIE shall take immediate steps to carry out necessary changes in their Memorandum of Association and related documents in consultation with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
IIE, Guwahati, which aims to promote and develop entrepreneurship, designs and organises training activities for different target group and undertakes research in the relevant to entrepreneurship.
It also provides consultancy service to the prospective and existing entrepreneurs, among other things.
