The incident happened at the pond of a Sun temple at Mathpararia village in the district yesterday night and the two kids have been identified as Munna Kumar (9) and Guddu (8).
Kasma Station House Officer Arvind Kumar said, "Three kids entered the pond last night to play in water. They ventured towards the deeper part of the water body and started drowning. Hearing their screams, villagers rushed and managed to save one child. The other two lost their lives."
