Two killed as car rams into metro pillar

Two persons were killed and three others were injured after the car they were travelling in hit a Metro rail pillar at Chaitanyapuri area here last night, the police said today.
The incident occurred when a group of five friends was headed to a hotel in the car after consuming alcohol at a bar.
A police official attached to Saroornagar police station said the person at the wheel was drunk when the car hit the Metro pillar.
While one of the occupants of the car, M Chaitanya, died on the spot, his friend Srinath succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Three others were injured in the incident.

The official said both the deceased were in their 20s.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act.
