Two persons drowned while kayaking in Kadanthra river following a flash flood, police said on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Elvin Lonan (41), a Keralite settled in Bengaluru in Karnataka, and Naveen Shetty (40), a resident of Bengaluru.
"A team of five came here for kayaking in the Kadanthra river when the mishap occurred. The three others escaped unhurt," an investigating officer told PTI.
The team was part of a kayaking club and came here for practising, police said.
The parents of the deceased have been informed about the tragedy, they added.
