The incident took place at around 2.30 am when a police patrol party spotted and interrogated them as they sat inside a car at a dark corner of a street in Kalighat area.
The trio had a sharp exchange of words with the policemen and tried to flee in their car after pushing away the constable and his associate, the police said.
"Our SI was hit by them. All the three were drunk. Police were doing their duty and our SI was hit by the trio. We have arrested them," an official at the Kalighat Police Station said.
