Two men who brought charas from J&K nabbed in Mumbai

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai police has nabbed two men from Jammu and Kashmir and seized charas worth Rs 5.60 lakh.
"We are focusing on breaking the supply chain of narcotics being brought from J&K for distribution in the Mumbai market," said Shivedeep Lande, deputy commissioner of police.
The Ghatkopar unit of ANC today arrested Shahina alias Heena Muzaffar Kababi (24) and Muzaffar Ahmad Butt (34) with 1.4 kg of charas valued at Rs 5.60 lakh from Vatsalatai Naik Nagar in suburban Kurla, DCP Lande said.
They hailed from Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla and Sopore areas, respectively, he said.

The duo acted as carriers for drug suppliers, he said.
Earlier, charas was sent in apple boxes, and Haji Abdul Rahman Ali Shaikh, part of charas suppliers' group in Jammu and Kashmir, came to Mumbai by train and collected the consignment.
After he was arrested and convicted by a court in Mumbai, the drug suppliers relied on Ishfaq Ahmad Rashi, a Srinagar resident, to distribute charas in Mumbai, but he too was arrested by the ANC sleuths, the DCP said.
