Bakhri police station SHO Sunil Kumar Singh said the incident occurred when the three minor girls went to bathe in the pond at Lahuan village.
While two girls drowned, one girl was saved by locals, who were alerted by their cries of help.
The dead were later fished out of the pond by the locals and identified, he added.
