Two more deaths, 47 new cases of swine flu in Telangana

Two more deaths from swine flu and 47 new cases of the H1N1 virus have been reported in Telangana, where fatalities from the disease have crossed the 50-mark this year.
"In the current year (from January 1 till February 20), 3,777 samples of patients have been tested. Of this 1,233 were found to be positive and number of deaths due to swine flu and other complications as on date stood at 51," a State Government bulletin on the viral disease said here today.
A bulletin issued yesterday put the number of deaths at 49.
As many as 128 samples were tested yesterday and 47 of them found positive for the H1N1 virus, which causes the disease, whose symptoms include high-fever, sneezing, cough and body pain, it said.
The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to 20 February) showed a decline, the bulletin said, adding sufficient stock of medicines is available at different hospitals and there are also enough testing kits.
