Two more killed as rains lash UP; toll rises to 120

With two more deaths today a total 120 people have been killed in rain and flood related incidents so far in Uttar Pradesh.
While one person was killed after being struck by lightning in Siddharth Nagar district, another died due to incessant rain in Barabanki district of the state, a report from the relief commissioner's office said.
According to the MeT department, southwest monsoon has been normal over the state.
Moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers occurred at many places over east UP and moderate to rather heavy rains and thundershowers occurred at few places over western parts of the state.
90 mm rainfall was recorded in Bansi, while Sidhauli and Handia got 80 mm each. Meanwhile Ramnagar and Amethi received 70 mm rains.
Rain and thundershower would occur at many places over east UP and few places over western parts of the state and heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over east UP in the next 48 hours, MeT department officials said.
According to the Central Water Commission Sharda river was flowing above danger mark at Paliakalan in Lakhimpur district.
Ghaghra river was flowing above the red mark at Eligin Bridge (Barabanki), Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia.
Budhi Rapti river was flowing above danger mark at Kakrahi in Siddharth Nagar and Kwano river above the red mark at Mukhalispur in Sant Kabir Nagar.
