Two of family drown in Nashik river

A 35-year-old woman drowned along with her son in Manyad river here when she entered the waters to save the 14-year-old, Yeola taluka police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when both Surekha Pawar and her son Badrinath went to the river at Andersool to feed water to their sheep, they said.
When the minor boy started drowning in the deep pit, his mother rushed to save him but could not save him.
Eventually, both drowned in the heavy currents.
Their bodies were fished out in the evening and cremated after postmortem, police added.
