Ashu and Deepak were intercepted by police yesterday night during routine checking when they got suspicious of the duo's movements near a private school.
"Upon frisking, police recovered one country-made pistol, a live cartridge and Rs 75,000 cash and intoxicating pills and powder from their possession," SHO Ummed Yadav said.
"During interrogation, they confessed to robbing two persons last month in which they looted nearly Rs 5.3 lakh," he added.
Among their victims was the collection agent who was robbed on July 6 when he was returning home after collecting the installments of chit fund committee, police said.
Both have been sent to jail.
