One suicide bomber was killed while another blew himself up today during a security forces' operation in Pakistan's restive Balochistan's province.
Security forces and militants also exchanged fire during the operation launched in Northern Zhob district's Gawal Ismailzai area this morning.
"One suicide bomber blew himself up while the other one was killed by security forces," a security official was quoted as saying by Dawn online.
Security forces also recovered 500 bombs, 200 kg of explosives, 50 jackets, 13 rocket launchers and other weapons during the operation.
More troops were called in the area to apprehend the militants involved in acts of targeted killings, kidnapping and bomb explosions, the officer said, adding that bombs planted by militants were also defused in the area.
Gawal Ismailzai is close to Pakistan's volatile tribal region of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
Pakistani army in June launched a military campaign against militants in the tribal regions of North Waziristan and Khyber and intensified the operation after the recent Taliban attack on an army-run school in Peshawar that killed 150 people, mostly children.
According to ISPR, the media wing of the army, it has killed over 1,200 militants since the start of operation Zerb-e-Azb in June against militants in North Waziristan.
