Two taken into custody in connection with cop's suicide

Two people were taken into custody in connection with the suicide of an assistant sub-inspector in Eluru of West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh today.
Assistant sub-inspector N Kurma Vara Prasad (50), who worked at the police control room in Eluru, committed suicide by consuming insecticide at Suresh Chandra Bhaugana English medium school in Eluru today morning at 8 am, the police said.
Prasad was rushed to Eluru Government General Hospital where he breathed his last at 10.30 am, the police said.
In his suicide note, Prasad alleged that three people including his sister and others called N Raghu, A Vijaya Lakshmi and N Chinna Vijayalakshmi harassed him over a property dispute and lodged a compliant in two police stations to harass him.
Besides this harassment he also suffered health problems like blood pressure, blood sugar, and neurological problems, he mentioned in his suicide note.
His suicide not also urged the West Godavari District Superintendent of Police to help get justice for his family members including his wife and two children.
Prasad is survived by wife Vimala Devi, a son Murali Krishna and daughter Pavani.
Meanwhile, the police took two people into custody for interrogation.
"We are interrogating them to know the reason for his suicide," the police said.
The Eluru police has registered a case.
