Two women allegedly killed for dowry in Shamli district

Two women were killed allegedly over dowry in the neighbouring Shamli district, police said on Monday.

A 21-year-old woman was strangulated to death at Kutubgharh village yesterday, police said.

Three persons, including husband Rahul, his father-in-law Somdutt and mother-in-law Sudesh were arrested on the complaint of the deceased's father, police said.

She was married to Rahul in November 2016.

In a separate incident, 22-year-old Komal was burnt alive by her in-laws over dowry demand at Kashmir village under Babri Police Station in Shamli district yesterday, police said.

Kripal Singh, her father has lodged a complaint and alleged that his daughter Komal was married to Praveen four months ago and was been harnessed for dowry.
