A two year old girl was allegedly raped by a labourer, who was beaten by locals and later handed over to the police in Bihar's Gaya district today.
Vishnupad police station SHO Uday Kumar said that one Sajan Ravidas, aged between 22 to 25, allegedly raped the minor girl at a house located at Madanpur locality of the police station.
The girl, who received injuries and bleeding, was admitted to Jaya Prabha hospital here for treatment, the SHO said.
The victim's family was living in a rented accommodation located at Madanpur locality of Vishnupad police station, he said adding that the accused was working as a labourer in the same house in which maintenance work was going on.
The neighbourers caught hold of the accused and beat him up badly before handing him over to the police, the SHO said adding that police have also taken the brother of the accused in its custody for creating nuisance.
