Two youths die as speeding trucks hit their bikes in Kanpur

Two youths were killed in separate road accidents in the city involving speeding trucks, sparking a protest, police said today.
In the first incident, 18-year-old Suraj was crushed to death in the Dehli Sujanpurwa area here last night, police said.
The truck driver first hit Suraj's bike and then crushed him while fleeing from the spot, they said.
Suraj died on the spot, police said.
The incident triggered a protest by angry locals who pelted stones at the truck and set it on fire.
The situation was brought under control and a fire tender was rushed to the spot to douse the fire, police said, adding that they were searching for its driver.

In the second incident, a 19-year-old youth was killed yesterday when his bike was hit by a speeding truck in Dalelpurwa area here, police said.

The victim has been identified as Sant Paswan.
His family rushed him to hospital, where he died.
The driver of the truck fled the spot, police said, adding that a search for him is on.
