Aerosmith had to cancel the last four shows of their South American tour as frontman Steven Tyler is "seeking immediate care" due to an unexpected medical issue.
The doctors advised Tyler to rest prompting the band to cancel its last four dates in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico.
The band posted a statement on their Twitter page with some comments from Tyler where he assured fans that it was not a "life threatening condition" and he is expected to make full recovery.
Tyler, 69, said he felt like he was letting his fans down but it was something that he could not work around.
"To everybody in South America... Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico... I'm very sorry and feel like I've let you down... I won't be able to continue the last four shows of this tour. I flew back to the US on doctor's orders last night after the show in Sao Paulo," the musician wrote.
"I am not in a life threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away, and get some rest and medical care immediately in order to sustain and maintain my future performances."
He promised his fans to be back once his health permits.
"I promise I'll be back... unfortunately, health does not wait and it's something even I can't schedule around our shows... As they say, 'We humans make plans, and God laughs...'"
Sharing the statement on his Twitter account, the singer apologised to fans and wrote, "I've let you down.
