Udayan Bhakar upsets third seed Vorachon to enter last 16

Udayan Bhakar continued his good form as he upset third seeded Thai Vorachon Rakpuangchon in straight sets to to enter the prequarterfinals of the BIPL Sports-MSLTA ITF Grade 3 Junior tennis championships today.
Bhakar, who recently won a Grade 4 ITF junior event at Delhi, continued his winning ways to put out the Thai in just over 1 hour and 30 minutes with a 6-3 6-2 scoreline.
In another match, fifth-seeded Salvador Banderias of Portugal came back from being a set down to outplay Manaz Naina Mohamed 3-6 6-2 6-1.
In the girls' first round, eighth-seeded Marta Oliveira of Portugal, Eva Vedder of Nederlands, Anna Solovyeva of Russia, along with fourth-seeded Akansha Bhan and second- seeded Mahak Jain of India also moved into the last sixteen.
Georgian Nikoloz Davlianidze teaming up with Kaivalya Kalamse scraped past wildcards Piyush Salekar and Atharva Sharma 6-7(3) 7-6(3) [10-8] in a close encounter to enter the boys' doubles quaterfinals.
Indian pair of Dev Javia and Theertha Macherla also made it to the last eight by defeating Georgian pair of David Chelidze and Irakli Metreveli 6-2 6-3.
