UDF hartal in Idukki over Kasturirangan report

Congress-led UDF opposition in Kerala has called for a 12-hour hartal in the district tomorrow in protest against the approach of LDF government towards the Kasturirangan report on the preservation and protection of Western Ghats.
The UDF leaders alleged that state governmemnt had submitted an affidavit in high court stating that 123 villages in Westernghats lay completely within the Ecologicaly fragile areas.
The hartal would be from 6 am to 6 pm, UDF leaders said.
Three villages in neighbouring Kottayam district Poonjar, Kootyikkkal and Peekoyi would also be observing hartal, they said.
