Inaugurating the agitation in front of the Secretariate, the administrative hub here, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said the new policy would result in the free flow of liquor in the state.
He also alleged corruption behind the CPI(M)-led LDF government's decision to reopen the liquor bars, closed by the previous UDF government as part of its target to achieve total prohibition within ten years.
KPCC president M M Hassan, who inaugurated the dharna in Kozhikode, alleged that the new policy would not only contribute to the state exchequer but also to the ruling party also.
Besides the opposition, a section of Church also came out strongly against the new liquor policy of the government and thretened to launch stir.
