"We expressed great disappointment at Meghalaya being awarded the least of only Rs 1,770 crore as compared to Nagaland's Rs 18,475 crore," UDP working president Jemino Mawthoh said here.
The recommendation of the 14th Finance Commission speaks volume of the inability of the present Government to run the affairs of the state, he said.
This has come as no surprise considering the gross financial mismanagement and lack of good governance in the state, Mawthoh said.
With the new dispensation at the Centre, the future of the state looks bleak and dim, the UDP legislator said adding that Chief Minister Mukul Sangma used to return with a lot of money from Delhi during the previous UPA regime as opposed to the situation now where he comes back with only guidelines.
Stating that the government needs to sit up and introspect where things go wrong, Mawthoh said.
