Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko today extended a truce with pro-Russian rebels in the separatist east by another 72 hours, the Ukrainska Pravda news site reported.
The decision was reached following urgent consultation Poroshenko held with top Ukrainian defence officials on his arrival in Kiev from an EU summit in Brussels at which he signed an historic trade and political association pact. The one-week truce had been due to expire today at 0030 IST.
