A 42-year-old employee of a travel agency, who also works for an official of the Ministry of External Affairs as a driver, was attacked by a man, in an alleged case of road rage.
The victim, Manoj Singh, who stays near Gole Market, was going from Bapu Dham towards south Delhi's Green Park Extension when the incident happened.
When Manoj was near the Embassy of Italy in Chanakyapuri, the accused, Rathim Sambi, tried to overtake his vehicle but could't.
"He wanted to overtake my car but since the turn was such it couldn't happen. He tried this a couple of times but it didn't succeed. He finally managed to overtake my car," Manoj said.
The accused got out of his vehicle and tried to pick a quarrel with Manoj. However, the people who were around brought the situation under control and Sambi was made to sit inside his car.
"Within a few minutes, he again came out with a stick and hit the window glass of my car's driver's seat," Manoj said, adding he received injuries on his face and hand for which he got stitches.
Police said that based on his car's registration number, Sambi was traced and arrested.
Sambi is a resident of Janakpuri and works as a marketing professional. His car has been seized, police said.
