Unable to see his son in pain, man drowns him in water tank

Unable to see the pain of his three-year-old son suffering from a chronic ailment, a man allegedly drowned him in the overhead water tank of his house at Taramatipet village on the outskirts of the city today, police said.
A shepherd called Srisailam was taken into custody in connection with the incident after he allegedly put his son Balmallesh, into the water tank in the early hours, the police said.
According to preliminary investigations, the boy was suffering from health problems including a kidney ailment.
After there was no improvement in his son's health condition despite treatment, Srisailam who was unable to see his son daily suffering and pain, took the extreme step.

Following a complaint, the Hayath Nagar police booked a case of murder and took Srisailam into custody. Further investigations are on, the police said.
