The committee had sent a proposal to the government for appointment of four teams to go into the illegality of the buildings that were constructed after July 1. 2007.
The First Bench Comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M Sathyanarayanan which perused the report on the illegal constructions said "the work entrusted to the committee will ove-see the action in the matter."
Taking serious view on the unauthorized constructions in the city particularly in the Sowcarpet area the High Court had on August 7, 2014 cracked its whip on the deviations by issuing direction that wherever non-compoundable constructions are there should be demolished within a period of three months.
