BJP today alleged that West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, arrested in connection with Saradha scam, was given undue facilities in Alipur correctional home and demanded a judicial probe into it.
"The state government is violating jail laws. Even liquor is smuggled inside jail. CCTV footage in jail should be seen, jail guards and other inmates should be asked about it. We demand an inquiry into it with a retired High court judge," state BJP President Rahul Sinha told a press conference.
When asked, state correctional home minister H A Safwi said he did not have any such report.
"I don't have any such report. May be he (Sinha) said it for political reasons," he said.
