Unidentified woman jumps into Chenab with child

An unidentified woman along with a child jumped into river Chenab in Ramban district today and were washed away, police said.
The woman jumped into the river near Maitra in Ramban district this afternoon, they said.
Police and volunteers of Red Cross launched a rescue and search operation to locate the two, they said, adding that the bodies are yet to be found.
All police stations along the Chenab have been informed, they added.
A case has been registered and process started to identify the woman and ascertain reason behind she taking this extreme step, they said.
