A 12-day journey of 450 young entrepreneurs from all over the world arrived here today to interact with local entrepreneurs, as part of their journey to meet businessmen and learn from their experiences.
The Jagriti Yatra, a special train which began in Mumbai on December 24, arrived here after passing through Dharwad, Bangalore, Madurai and Chennai. It is also scheduled to reach Berhampur and Delhi, before it finally reaches Ahmedabad.
According to its website, Jagriti Yatra is a train journey of discovery and transformation that takes hundreds of India's highly motivated youth, especially those who are from small towns and villages of India, on a 15-day, 8000 km national odyssey to meet role models - social and business entrepreneurs - of the country.
The young enterpreneurs onboard this journey are from not just India, but also from Russia, China, England and the USA. They have been interacting with each other on their journey and also interacting with locals wherever they stayed for a day.
One of the members of the group, Nishant Gupta from Bhilwara, Rajasthan, shared his experiences with the local media.
He said the main motto of the journey was to build India through development of enterpreneurship spirit. He said they had to study various cultures and traditions of the country, as well as initiatives by local enterpreneurs.
Another member, Talasila Jignesh from Ponnur, Andhra Pradesh, said the members interacted among themselves during the journey and shared experiences in running their businesses and also learnt from others' business models.
Jagriti Yatra business manager Anupreet said this is the sixth edition of the journey, where members would have an opportunity to meet both rural and urban enterpreneurs to share their views.
In Vijayawada, they interacted with an enterpreneur who successfully runs an enterprise dealing with technology in electronics and electricals.
