UP Governor approves MLC nominations filed by state govt

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today gave his assent to three names nominated for Member of Legislative Council (MLC) by the state government.
Madhukar Jaitely, Balwant Singh Ramuwalia and Zahir Hasan received the Governor's approval for MLCs, a release by the Governor's office said.
Uttar Pradesh government had forwarded four names for MLC but Governor has approved only three and sought query on the fourth name of Rajpal Kashyap, it said.
A minister has to become a member of any House within six months of holding post.
Balwant Singh Ramuwalia, serving as cabinet minister in Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's government was not a member of any House and his deadline of six months will be expiring tomorrow.
