UP govt plans IT city

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to develop IT city, an IT institute, modern medicity, administrative training institute and dairy processing plant on 846.49 acre land of Chak Gajaria farm near Lucknow.
"During the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, a proposal to relocate existing activities at Gajaria farm to some other place and allow project of housing and commercial use was passed," an official spokesman said here.
As per the decision 100 acre land would be transferred to IT and Electronics department for IT city, 50 acre land to technical education department for India IT Institute, 100 acre to medical education department for medicity.
In addition, 20 acre land would be transferred to medical department for super speciality hospital/cardiology centre, 20 acre for modern dairy processing plant and 25 acre land to personnel department for administrative institute free of cost.
Remaining land would be transferred to Lucknow Development Authority on current circle rate.
A high-level committee chaired by the chief secretary would be constituted for implementation of the project and take necessary policy decisions.
The land use would be changed by Housing and Urban Planning department for the project.
Infrastructure facilities at the project site would be developed by the LDA, for which the agency would create a revolving fund and make initial monetary provision from its own resources.
Under the project, LDA would also construct EWS and LIF dwellings as per the norms fixed by Housing and Urban Planning department.
Remaining developed land would be auctioned by the LDA and the fund generated would be kept in a separate bank account to be called as project development fund.
The spokesman said that DFS scheme being run by animal husbandry department at Gajaria farm would be shifted to Agriculture Management Institute at Rehmankhera.
For this agriculture department would provide 25 acre land to animal husbandry free of cost and required facilities would be created in maximum two years.
Similarly other activities of animal husbandry and proposed modern dairy farm project would be shifted to land in Barabanki district in a phased manner.
