Western Ghats: Will submit a balance report,says Kasturirangan

Eminent Scientist K Kasturirangan, Chairman of the Working Group to assess the Madhav Gadgil Committee report on Western Ghats, today said they would submit "a balanced report" to the Centre.
Talking to reporters after an interaction with the public, representatives of farmers' organisation and local bodies here, he said they would make a balance between the developmental activities and conservation of eco-system in their report.
"Our report would reflect the realities on the ground even as we look at how best we conserve and preserve the eco-system", he said.
The interaction with the people in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra was progressing, he said.
