According to the police, lawyer Ranjan Mittal and his aide Rajiv Aggarwal have been booked under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.
Protesting against the move, a group of lawyers led by the district bar association president staged a demonstration.
They alleged that the lawyer had been falsely implicated in the land grab cases.
