Over Rs 3 lakh in cash was robbed at gunpoint from a cashier of the Uttar Pradesh power department, police said Tuesday.
The cashier, Shekhar Chand, was robbed of Rs 3,10,000 Tuesday evening near Badkali village under Kotwali police station when he was coming to office after collection of dues, the police said.
Two unidentified robbers came on a motorcycle and snatched the bag containing the cash at gunpoint.
Efforts were on to identify and nab the snatchers, the police said.
In a separate incident, the cashier at a branch of Uco Bank in neighbouring Shamli district was shot at in a failed robbery bid.
The cashier, Chander Vir Singh, has been hospitalised.
