Kanhaiya Yadav was arrested by the STF team from Baogaon area of Gorakhpur on a tip off and pistols of different bores and cartridges were recovered from his possession, STF officials said here.
"The accused during interrogation confessed to his involvement in arms smuggling", they said and claimed that he was involved in the act for the past 20 years.
The firearms were brought by Yadav, who has a number of criminal cases pending against him in Gorakhpur, from Bihar and sold in UP at higher rates.
