Upendra Tripathy to hold additional charge of Power Secretary

Senior IAS officer Upendra Tripathy was today given additional charge of Power Secretary for three months.
Tripathy, a 1980 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, is presently Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
He will hold the additional charge for three months with effect from the date of relinquishment of charge by P K Sinha on his appointment as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Cabinet Secretariat, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
Sinha, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was working as Power Secretary. He has been named as new Cabinet Secretary. Sinha, will take over as OSD in Cabinet Secretariat, before replacing incumbent Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth from June 13.
