Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena (UPNS) has convened a mahapanchayat of 40 villages tomorrow in protest against the construction of a "temple" dedicated to Mahatma Gandi's assassin Nathuram Godse.
The mahapanchayat will be held at Rohta, 20 kms from here, UPNS national president Amit Jani said here.
"All those who oppose the construction of Godse temple are invited to the mahapanchayat," he said.
Recently, activists of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) had allegedly performed a ceremony here for construction of a "temple" dedicated to Godse, following which the administration ordered a probe into the matter.
Jani said UPNS will also hold a non-violent protest at ABHM's office at Sharada road where the temple is likely to be constructed.
"The members will also go on a hunger strike on that day," he said.
UPNS on December 28 had said that they will not let a temple dedicated to Godse be constructed in the district.
