Mishra, while moving the motion, said that the prices of vegetables, milk and other essential items were hitting the roof and the state government had "failed" in controlling the situation.
Irate Opposition members then rushed towards Speaker Biman Mukopadyay's chair holding placards, empty plates, and garlands made of green chilli, egg plant and ladies finger.
They then staged a walk-out from the house.
Mishra later told reporters that the Speaker was not admitting any adjournment motion moved by him on crucial issues.
He said the government monitoring system had completely failed in checking unabated price rise. While the farmers were not getting the right price for their produce, the buyers were forced to pay a hefty amount, Mishra said.
Mishra said that cold storages were flooded with potatoes, but the price of the vegetable was rising.
He also criticised the state power department for not being able to check frequent rise in electricity tariff.
