Jai Prakash, an under-training SI, went to his quarter in the police station, but did not return. When his colleagues went to look for him, they broke open the door and found him dead with his service revolver lying nearby, a police spokesperson said.
Domestic problems are said to be the cause behind him taking the extreme step, the spokesman said, adding that the body had been sent for post-mortem.
