Urudu academy in the city to promote the language

To promote Urdu in this region, an academy is being opened in the city.
The Allama Iqbal Urdu Academy, to be opend on June 14, will begin study centres across the city and important towns in the district, so that more people, who were either speaking the language or interested, can join, Imtiaz Babu, President of the Academy told reporters here today.
In the long run, the academy will establish a school in Urdu medium, he said, adding that there was a three-language formula in the State, by which Urdu was taught some years ago.
It was also proposed to construct a hospital for the benefit of all community and to provide affordable treatment, Imtiaz said.
Poet Kaviko Abdul Rehman will inaugurate the academy, in the presence of the district Collector, Archana Patnaik, he said.
Ffr the first time, there will be a Urdu Kavi Sammelan (Mushaira), at the inaugural venue, in which 22 poets from across the country will participate.
