Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations increased by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following paucity of trucks as compared to pick-up in cargo movements.
Transporters said better cargo movements and tight position of trucks mainly pushed up freight rates at some centres.
Delhi to Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram freight rates moved up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 64,000 and Rs 78,000.
Guwahati and Goa freight rates also went up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 52,000 and Rs 50,000.
