The Puducherry Assembly Speaker V Vaithilingam quit the post Thursday as he is the Congress nominee for the Lok Sabha election here.
Deputy Speaker V P Sivakolundhu to whom Vaithilingam submitted the letter of resignation from the post of Speaker, told PTI that he would look after the duties of the Speaker.
Vaithilingam will file the nomination for the Lok Sabha polls tomorrow, according to party sources.
