Following imposition of model code of conduct for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, all police stations in the district have been instructed to be more vigilant and keep an eye on the suspected vehicular movement so that no political party and their workers may carry cash and other items to be distributed among voters during polls campaign, Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar said.

Also Income Tax department was informed and a team of I-T officers, headed by Deputy Director Sunil Yadav, reached the police station and also interrogated them
"But the cash van staff could not reply to their queries and were unable to produce any document, following which the cash was seized and the four were allowed to go after taking their identity cards," he said.
During the day, three more cash carrying vehicles were intercepted at Vaishali cut in Indirapuram area during checking.
"The vehicles belonged to private hospitals and shopping malls. During the search, about 80 lakh in cash was found, which was released after verification," the SSP added.
